are standard mtb brakepads the same as hybrid rim brake pads?

i need to replace brake pads on my bike, but the rims are slightly bigger than standard mtb rims. Can I fit pads suitable for a mtb? the rims are 700cc hybrid rims, bigger than mtb rims, and with a Tektro V brake system. Links to cheap and suitable purchases

Walk into your local bike shop & tell them you need brake pads for a hybrid with 700C wheels. Simple enough. Mountain bike wheels are generally 26". They won't match up correctly, leaving you with sub-standard braking power.
